Drought in Monze, Southern Zambia

Monze district in Southern Province suffered the worst drought since 1981. Children and adults were hungry and no harvest in 2019 means farmers could not save seeds. Families needed seeds and fertiliser to provide a harvest in 2020. MAD4Kids were keen to support the great work done by 'Friends of Monze' in the area and in November were able to pay for 15 families to be given provisions to ensure they could plant fast growing crops at the start of the rainy season. The initial results are very encouraging.
